Stuck like Glue!

Submitted by Donna Fiedler on

It's all about the glue or the adhesive in this case!  Many of the packages you see on the store shelf are high-performance machines made of multilayers of packaging film that relies on adhesives to keep them together.  The adhesive bond is a way to combine otherwise  incompatible materials like film, foil and/or paper into a multilayer structure that is greater than the sum of its parts.

Solventless adhesives - whether it be water based or solvent based - make up the bulk of the business when it comes to laminated flexible packaging.  The main advantage to a solventless adhesive is a rapid-cure process that cuts production time.  This helps meet market demand for shorter production runs and shrinking lead times.  Moving to solventless laminations also increases line speeds and offers a large savings in overall energy cost and a reduction in emissions.  Very sustainable!!

The trick, of course, is laminating the right types of films for the barrier property your product requires.  Flexaco and its team of partners are experts in this field and can engineer the right package to perform a complete job.  The main goal, of course, is getting the product to the consumer in as fresh a state as the day it was packed!

Hey - we don't just make this look easy ..... we make this look GOOD!!
